1958 Alden One Design M/Y SOLD

ASKING 79,900

PRICED FOR QUICK SALE

WE HAVE PRICED THIS VESSEL FOR QUICK SALE NOT DUE TO ISSUES WITH VESSEL. SHE HAS BEEN LOVINGLY RESTORED AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS. OUR PLANS HAVE CHANGED AND THE VESSEL NEEDS TO BE USED AND NOT LEFT SITTING TO BE FORGOTTEN. We understand the difficulties in purchasing a vintage vessel so we have priced her Well below her value as you can read in the surveys below, and her updates were extensive.

ITS A MUST SEE TO BELIEVE!

This is a 1958 Alden One Design Yacht number 941A. She was built at Quincy Yacht Yard in Quincy MA. This vessel is 60′ with a beam of 16′ and a draft of 4′ 5′. This is a wooden vessel with mahogany over white oak. Her interior is full of mahogany with a beautiful and stately presence.

This vessel is worth a walkthrough!

In 1989 this vessel was removed out of the water and had extensive work done. She was needing to be certified as a passenger’s vessel by the coast guard and in order to pass inspection, she had to be re-planked double hulled and new guard board with sistering every rib. This was an undertaking and very costly but we are the people who get to reap the benefit’s from this reconstruction.

We have been asked recently “2020” does she have a dry bilge?

And the answer is yes, one of our first things to do was to address any and all leaks, and as a wonderful classic wood boat restoration guy once told us, when you see a leak you fix a leak never let it go, and so we have and I’m proud to say we have been a dry bilge for two years. The only water we get it from the drips from the shaft which are supposed to drip, we did not replace with drip less . The extra thing we added to insure good air flow and to keep the bilge dry were these D/C fans and they run from the bow to stern keeping the air flowing and moisture out! This we learned to do on our sailboats and it works great, very little amperage and they run forever.

Here is the Surveys we had performed on the vessel in 2017, 2018.

Her value has only gone up since.

And per all of the recommendations by the surveyor, we fixed all of the requested fixes and went onward to update the plumbing by replacing all of the piping throughout the entire vessel, and replacing the heads with Atlantes Freedom. We have replaced two of the small A/C units with 16,000 btu dual units. This vessel was hauled out in 2017, We were able to address any and all wood repairs. In a couple of areas we found water migration and immediately pulled out the softwood and replaced with white oak, and in some places it required a 3′ board so whatever we found we replaced. We also completed a new paint job which required us to sand all the way down and prep the wood. we worked from the decks to the bottom including the transom with a new name. Updated lighting and more. She went from a drab dark vessel to a welcoming comforting home on the water, CLICK HERE TO VIEW.
